Embed climate adaptation into teaching and learning

Bring local climate data and your climate adaptation work into teaching and learning. This can help make learning about climate more meaningful for children and young people.

Use local climate data in the curriculum

Find ways to incorporate local weather patterns, temperature trends, and climate-related events into your setting's educational activities and wider teaching and learning. This includes teaching about seasonal changes, weather phenomena, and how these factors affect their environment. Use hooks identified in your curriculum audit to find relevant placement.

Integrate your climate adaptation aims in your teaching and learning

Find ways to link climate adaptation aims and initiatives into your setting's teaching and learning. This action can be adapted to all settings. For example, water conservation can be taught through formal learning, as well as through non-statutory studies, wider skills, character education, play or extra-curricular activities.
