Establish a regular travel survey

Periodically collect information on how your staff, learners, visitors and suppliers travel to and from your setting. Use this to help you to identify patterns. This will enable you to look for opportunities to promote active travel alternatives, such as walking or cycling, as well as carpooling or public transport.

It will also help you to identify supporting facilities you could provide, such as bike racks or walking route maps. Regular surveys will help you to monitor changes in patterns, and the effectiveness of any travel projects you implement.
