Increase governor and SLT awareness of the importance of biodiversity

Educate your decision makers about the significance of improving biodiversity in and around your setting. This creates a foundation from which to build your setting's approach to improving biodiversity.

It will help to build buy-in for any initiatives, improve long term planning and decision-making, and ensure that biodiversity efforts are coordinated with your wider sustainability goals.

Emphasise the educational and developmental benefits of engaging children and young people in increasing your setting's biodiversity. It may also help to highlight the links between biodiversity, creating outdoor learning opportunities and improving your community's mental health and wellbeing.
