Identify and collect climate data

Gather historic data on the weather, temperature and flooding relevant to your setting's location. By collecting this data, you will be able to identify which climate-related extreme events will impact you more frequently in the future due to climate change.

Climate-related extreme events can be described as severe or unseasonal weather, including flooding, extreme cold and heatwaves.

Taking this action will enable you to complete a climate risk assessment to identify the likelihood of future events and their potential impacts on your setting, and its staff and children or young people. This is fundamental to prioritise climate action and investment in adaptation at your setting.
