Survey parents as part of your green skills and careers audit
Once you’ve completed an audit of your local green careers landscape, develop an understanding of your parent body’s perceptions about green skills and careers. This will help you understand parental attitudes towards sustainability, unlock barriers, identify potential areas for collaboration or support, and foster community engagement in green initiatives.
This could be done via surveys, forums, during parents evenings, or through suggestion boxes. Try to embed collecting it into current communication channels, and collect a varied and sizable sample. Once collected, analyse the responses for trends and summarise findings to feed into wider plans linked to green skills and careers.
Open dialogue helps make your programs more relevant to family needs, and empowers parents to support their learners's exploration of green careers and skills.
