Plan to switch to renewable energy tariffs

Identify when and how you will transition your setting's energy consumption to sustainable sources such as wind, solar, or hydroelectric power through the use of renewable energy tariffs. Speak with your energy suppliers to identify the most appropriate tariffs for your setting, and evaluate the financial implications of the switch.

Although renewable energy tariffs may have a slightly higher upfront cost in some cases, they can save money in the long run. As fossil fuel prices fluctuate and carbon taxes become more common, renewable energy prices are becoming more stable and affordable. Switching to renewables can protect your setting from future price increases in non-renewable energy sources.

By using renewable energy, your setting can significantly reduce its greenhouse gas emissions, as energy generated from renewable sources like wind, solar, or hydropower doesn’t release carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases.

By making this change, settings can enhance their sustainability efforts, and use this as a learning opportunity for staff and learners.

Create a list to save actions and resources, or make a plan for your setting.
