Let’s Go Zero Climate Action Advisors

Part of Let’s Go Zero, Climate Action Advisors are independent experts who offer free support for schools, colleges, and nurseries across England.

Planning and monitoring

Strategies, visions and policies will help you set a direction on your sustainability journey. You’ll also use data to track your progress and set targets.

Milestones are key actions that enable you to complete your aims. You can also use them as points to share and celebrate your progress.

Understand what data is available across all areas of sustainability

Identify and gather information related to sustainability, such as energy usage, waste generation, water consumption and spend data.

Speak to your staff and children or young people (where appropriate) to identify what actions you are already taking to become more sustainable, and where there are opportunities for improvement.

Determine which sustainability issues or goals are most important to your setting. Assess factors such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, outdoor learning, travel, biodiversity, heat and flood risk.
