Calculate your carbon footprint
Measure the total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions produced by your setting's activities. The best way to do this is to use a carbon calculator or seek expert support, to help you develop a robust reporting and tracking process. This process will prompt questions about your setting's activities and how much energy you use, and uses this information to calculate how much carbon your setting produces. This is known as your carbon footprint.
When you first calculate your carbon footprint, you might not have all the data you need or it might not be very accurate, so this action should be repeated as you improve the data you collect on your setting's activities. Taking this approach will help you to identify where your setting has the biggest environmental impact, and actions you can take to reduce it.
