Develop a plan to improve data from your significant suppliers

Using the data you have collected through your significant supplier survey, you should develop a plan to improve any data gaps. This will help you to improve the accuracy and completeness of the data, This in turn will improve the accuracy of your carbon footprint calculation, and provide a more accurate picture of the environmental impact of your supply chain, especially regarding carbon emissions, resource use, and waste.

This step requires you to consider what data you need to collect, the suppliers you need to engage, any important dates you would like to work to, and how you would like to engage your suppliers. You may also consider the format you want to collect the data in, and the frequency you will need to collect it.

By taking this approach, you will be able to identify the time and effort required to improve your data. It enables a coordinated approach that can streamline your efforts, and will help you to prioritise suppliers or data that is most important.
