Develop a short term Climate Action Plan

By 2025 the Department for Education expects all settings in England to have developed a 'Climate Action Plan'. You can use Sustainability Support for Education to identify the actions you want to take, and use these to create your short term Climate Action Plan. Your initial plan may include only a small amount of actions that you want to focus on for this academic year. However, this plan should be an evolving document, which you continue to add to over time.

As you progress through Sustainability Support for Education, your short term Climate Action Plan will then provide the detail that enables you to begin to implement your sustainability strategy. You can use it to capture the actions, responsibilities, resources and budget required to deliver your short-term sustainability projects. It will help you to set achievable goals and prioritise actions and resources.

This short term plan will act as a stepping stone for you to develop your long term Climate Action Plan, which should aim to cover your actions up to 2030. Sharing this plan with your community can encourage engagement and improve your setting's perception.

Create a list to save actions and resources, or make a plan for your setting.
