Develop your first annual emissions report
This is an important milestone in your decarbonisation journey. You will have done a significant amount of work to collect, understand and improve your Scope 1,2 and 3 data, and should now be at a place where you are ready to report on your emissions on an annual basis.
This action requires you to set out a clear, easy to understand breakdown of your carbon footprint across each Scope, comparing your current reporting year to your baseline year. It is important to remember you will be sharing this with your community. It can be helpful to include some narrative on your progress over the year, as well as any goals or targets you have achieved or missed, and future plans.
Larger settings may already produce a Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) report, which is an opportunity to create alignment in your reporting process. Aim to meet SECR requirements while also producing a meaningful, transparent report that your stakeholders can easily access to understand your current emissions, targets and progress.
