Improve your carbon emissions data
Improve the accuracy and completeness of any data you use to calculate your carbon footprint and monitor your emissions over time.
This action is about continuous improvement, so it can be helpful to start by using the results of your audits (energy, waste, food and catering, supply chain). Completing these audits will provide you with more accurate and complete data that you can use to update your carbon footprint calculation, as well as identifying areas where you may not have accurate or complete data yet.
Identifying gaps in your data collection will allow you to find ways to collect this information, such as speaking to your suppliers or investigating your catering or waste in more detail.
This is an important step in your journey to becoming more sustainable. If your data is incorrect or incomplete, this will affect the accuracy of your carbon footprint and prevent you from reliably measuring the progress you make. Accurate data enables informed decision-making, facilitates goal-setting for emission reduction targets, and enhances the credibility of your sustainability reporting.
