Part of Let’s Go Zero, Climate Action Advisors are independent experts who offer free support for schools, colleges, and nurseries across England.

Develop a long term sustainable travel plan

Plan a set of actions that will promote and facilitate sustainable and active travel over time. To inform the development of the travel plan, use the information collected through your regular travel survey, as well as your assessment of any on-site sustainable travel solutions.

This will help you to coordinate the delivery of any actions by priority and complexity, and identify any risks or dependencies. It will also help you to identify where behaviour change or upskilling may be needed to ensure the success of any actions taken.

Once you have developed your sustainable travel plan, share it with your community, and regularly review and update it to reflect your progress. Having a robust, long term plan will ensure that sustainable travel remains high on your agenda, and allow you to allocate budget to support your aims.
