Prioritise your Scope 3 focus areas

Once you have audited and analysed your Scope 3 data, you should prioritise any areas that you would like to focus on improving the quality and completeness of the data for.

You may want to select significant areas of consumption, such as food, waste and travel and commuting. Rather than trying to gather data across all Scope 3 areas at once, focusing on high-priority areas allows you to work more efficiently, reducing the scope of your initial work, and ensures you gather the most impactful data first so that you can calculate a meaningful carbon footprint more quickly.

This approach leads to a more meaningful and precise carbon footprint calculation, and ensures you can get quicker insights into the areas that contribute the most to your emissions, enabling you to identify some quick win actions you can take to reduce your carbon footprint.

Create a list to save actions and resources, or make a plan for your setting.
