Part of Let’s Go Zero, Climate Action Advisors are independent experts who offer free support for schools, colleges, and nurseries across England.
Seek buy-in from your governors and trustees on your climate adaptation plan
Engage your senior leadership in your setting's climate adaptation plans. Share your plan to make your setting more resilient to climate hazards, with rationale to support why this is essential and worthwhile work.
This could be integrated as a one-off agenda item at a governors meeting, or ideally become a standing item to return to and build long term buy-in. Allow for the opportunity to provide feedback and use this to further improve your plans.
This will support your climate adaptation efforts, aligning your leadership with goals and targets. It will potentially help to secure resources for implementation and build commitment to long-term resilience. Collaboration fosters a unified approach to climate adaptation, enhances decision-making, and encourages accountability and transparency so plans are well thought out and properly implemented.
