Survey all significant suppliers and partnerships
This actions involves asking your significant suppliers and partners to provide information about their organisation and the products and services they provide, that will help you to more accurately calculate your carbon footprint.
For instance, this could include a request for sustainability data on the products and services, such as the mass (such as kilograms or pounds) of goods or services you buy, and data regarding their own operations (Scope 1) and the energy they purchase (Scope 2).
To ensure that this process feels collaborative, and develops into a strong working relationship, It is recommended that you announce your intention to complete a survey, before sending any survey forms.
This is an important step in your journey to tackling your supply chain emissions, as it will help you to understand how much carbon and greenhouse gases are generated through your setting's purchases.
By doing this, you can then work with your significant suppliers to identify opportunities for improvement. This will help to reduce your own carbon footprint, and make more sustainable purchasing choices.
